ABSTRACT

Objective@#To analyze the correlations of systolic blood pressure (SBP) with uric acid, blood lipid and blood glucose in adults, so as to provide the evidence for blood pressure management and early prevention of cardiovascular diseases. @*Methods@# Based on the China Health and Nutrition Survey, data of participants in 2004 and 2009 was collected, including demographic characteristics, blood pressure, uric acid, blood lipid and blood glucose. Participants with SBP<140 mmHg both in 2004 and 2009 were divided into the continuously normal group, participants with SBP≥140 mmHg in 2004 and <140 mmHg in 2009 were divided into the reduced group, participants with SBP<140 mmHg in 2004 and ≥140 mmHg in 2009 were divided into the elevated group, and participants with SBP≥140 mmHg both in 2004 and 2009 were divided into the continuously high group. Multivariable logistic regression model was used to analyze the correlations of SBP with uric acid, blood lipid and blood glucose. @*Results@#A total of 5 086 subjects were included in this study with a mean age of (48.0±7.2) years, including 2 374 males (46.67%) and 2 712 women (53.33%). The median (interquartile range) of SBP was 117.00 (13.33) mmHg in the continuously normal group, 146.67 (15.33) mmHg in the reduced group, 122.67 (12.00) mmHg in the elevated group and 150.67 (18.66) mmHg in the continuously high group. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that compared with the continuously normal group, the reduced group was correlated with abnormal fasting blood glucose (OR=1.383, 95%CI: 1.008-1.896); the elevated group was correlated with abnormal uric acid (OR=1.495, 95%CI: 1.195-1.869), abnormal low density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR=1.226, 95%CI: 1.030-1.460), abnormal triglyceride (OR=1.446, 95%CI: 1.203-1.739) and abnormal total cholesterol (OR=1.261, 95%CI: 1.057-1.504); the continuously high group was correlated with abnormal uric acid (OR=1.603, 95%CI: 1.188-2.164), abnormal triglyceride (OR=1.619, 95%CI: 1.253-2.093) and abnormal fasting blood glucose (OR=1.565, 95%CI: 1.166-2.100), adjusting for confounding factors (gender, age, marital status, etc.).@*Conclusion@# The increase of SBP in adults were correlated with uric acid, blood lipid and blood glucose.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Objective: To explore the feasibility of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT in diagnosing primary prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: Embase, PubMed and Cochrane Library databases were searched for studies published before July 2020. The studies that used 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for detecting primary prostate cancer, and pathological biopsy as the reference standard were included. The selecting process used preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA). The quality of enrolled studies was assessed by the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2) tool. Results: According to our search strategy, 9 studies were included for analysis. A total of 547 patients with primary prostate cancer and 443 lesion segments that underwent 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT scans were included and their pathological biopsies were compared. The results of these studies showed some differences. For instance, the lowest sensitivity of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT in diagnosing primary prostate cancer was 67%, while the highest sensitivity recorded was 97%. Conclusions: Compared with conventional imaging examinations, 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT had higher sensitivity and specificity in detecting primary prostate cancer. At present, most of the studies that used 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for detecting prostate cancer are retrospective studies. Based on its advantage of high detection rate, the use of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT in the detection of primary prostate cancer is worthy of promotion.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the characteristics of injury deaths of children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years in Kunming during 2010-2019,and to provide injury prevention and control basis.@*Methods@#Injury mortality data in 2010-2019 were from Kunming population based mortality surveillance system. The characteristics of injury death of children and adolescents were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, including mortality rate, composition ratio, the annual percent change,etc.@*Results@#Child and adolescent injury mortality was 23.18/10 5,decreasing by year(t=7.13,P<0.05). Male mortality(31.59/10 5) was higher than female(14.27/10 5)(χ2=376.24,P<0.05),the APC of male was -8.82% and -7.48% in female. The injury mortality of male was higher than that of female at all age group. The injury mortality rate of rural children and adolescents(28.65/10 5) was higher than that of urban children(12.37/10 5)(χ2=297.30,P<0.05),the APC was -8.53% in urban areas and -7.78% in rural areas. The top five causes of injury death of children and adolescents were traffic accident drowning, accidental fall, suicide and accidental mechanical suffocation, accounting for 80.88% of the total injury deaths of children and adolescents. In urban and rural areas, injury death by traffic accident, drowning and rural unintentional falls decreased significantly(t urban=3.17,3.20,t rural=5.66,3.12,4.42,P<0.05). The leading cause of death varied by different age groups.@*Conclusion@#The injury mortality rate of children and adolescents in Kunming city is on the decline. Rural children and adolescents, as vulnerable population to injury death, should receive protective strategies according to their specific characteristics of injuries and deaths in different age groups.

ABSTRACT

Abstract INTRODUCTION Anopheles stephensi is the main malaria vector in Southeast Asia. Recently, plant-sourced larvicides are attracting great interests. METHODS: The essential oil was extracted from the leaf of Cinnamomum camphora (L.), and a bioassay was conducted to determine the larvicidal efficacy. The chemical composition of the essential oil was determined by GC-MS analysis. RESULTS: The oil showed strong, dose-dependent larvicidal activities. The onset of larvicidal efficiency was rapid. The LC50 and LC95 were determined as 0.146% and 1.057% at 1 h, 0.031% and 0.237% at 12 h, 0.026% and 0.128% at 24 h, respectively. The oil contains 32 compounds. CONCLUSIONS The essential oil of C. camphora leaf has an excellent larvicidal potential for the control of A. stephensi.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to investigate the preparation process and in vitro release behavior of artesunate polylactic acid microspheres, in order to prepare an artesunate polylactic acid (PLA) administration method suitable for hepatic arterial embolization. With PLA as the material and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the emulsifier, O/W emulsion/solvent evaporation method was adopted to prepare artesunate polylactic acid microspheres, and optimize the preparation process. With drug loading capacity, encapsulation efficiency and particle size as indexes, a single factor analysis was made on PLA concentration, PVA concentration, drug loading ratio and stirring velocity. Through an orthogonal experiment, the optimal processing conditions were determined as follows: PLA concentration was 9. 0% , PVA concentration was 0. 9% , drug loading ratio was 1:2 and stirring velocity was 1 000 r x min(-1). According to the verification of the optimal process, microsphere size, drug loading and entrapment rate of artesunate polylactic acid microspheres were (101.7 +/- 0.37) microm, (30.8 +/- 0.84)%, (53.6 +/- 0.62)%, respectively. The results showed that the optimal process was so reasonable and stable that it could lay foundation for further studies.
